Two kids gone bad. What other explanation is there. As far as your observation: "Just a bunch of typical American kids with nothing better to do.", there are approximately 4 million kids in that age group in the US. Two hardly constitutes typical. Life is dangerous. John Adams observed that man is inherently evil. By this example, seems so.

This kid needs to put in a mental institution and never let out he is crazy and has lost touch with reality taking a human life so he can buy implants for his girlfriend. If ever let go he will kill someone

This is what happens when you use "time out" as a disciplinary measure.

First of all, this behavior can't be blamed to just one root cause. As humans we are all complicated creatures, nothing is black and white. We have no idea who the parents are, if they are abusive, or absent, and if the son has any emotional disorders or is simply a sociopath. Evil my butt. We are who we are based on numerous factors, and the nature vs. nurture debate will be on-going forever. Criminal behavior can't be explained by labeling it as evidence of the devil. That's ridiculous.

Some factors to consider:
1) lack of a conscience, or ingoring it
2) they're teenagers-the part of the brain that controls risk taking and impulsivity doesn't develop fully until the age of 25.
3) peer pressure - it can influence bad behavior by 50%

Most likely these kids have a record of bad behavior and truancy, and obviously have a skewed understanding of right and wrong and taking responsibility for their actions. Teachers should have to take child psychology classes, as well as parents should have to take parenting classes in order to see the warning signs and act in order to prevent future crimes. Too much is ignored and then we start pointing fingers. That doesn't solve anything.

The responsibility falls on the ones who chose to do evil. They are of adult age. They made the decision. It is no ones fault but there own. Deciding to do evil is a conscience decision. This is NOT what happens when you use "Time Out." That had to be the stupidest thing I ever read. Let me tell you something...My parents spanked, and as soon as I got big enough to fight back I did! Dicipline is not about beating your kids into submission or ruling them thru fear of violence. And if you do use spanking, it tells your children one thing. You have no control, and no other way to get your point across then hitting them. That is not how you teach your children to respect, only to fear physical violence. How the hell am I supposed to teach my son, that nothing is solved thru violence and fighting if I hit him???!! How the hell do you teach a child it's wrong to hit others when you can't think of any better way to deal with them, than hitting them? If my son does something unacceptable, he is made to sit in a corner and THINK ABOUT WHY HE IS THERE! and WHY HIS ACTIONS WERE WRONG! This actually teaches children to take some responcibility for their own actions. Americans have some of the WORST family values on the planet. When you live in a society where both parents have no chioce but to work full time jobs to make ends meet, and NO ONE is raising the children or provideing guidence and positive feedback what do you think is going to happen? people have two signals systems.
Primary - is done to us in physical sensations. For example - you touched the burner, you feel the pain

I don't think what kind of a mom she was should have any bearing on the right or wrongness of killing her. If the girl wanted new boobs, the young man could have taken a job and earned the money. Or the girl could have. Killing is not ok, and most certainly not ok for a new pair of boobs!
